The Linn County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with the Cedar Rapids Police Department, has developed Home Again CR, a voluntary registration program that provides Linn County law enforcement agencies with identifying information and cues to aid in assisting persons with Autism, Alzheimer's, or other developmental disabilities. The program is intended for individuals who may be unable to respond appropriately or identify themselves to law enforcement officers; children who wander or elope as a symptom of Autism or other developmental disabilities; or individuals who are non-verbal or unable to communicate effectively. Through this voluntary registration program, law enforcement officers will be better able to identify persons who are unable to identify themselves and safely reunite them with their loved ones.
