Due to the number of positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations across the country and locally, Linn County has closed most buildings to the public to help reduce community spread of the virus and to help ensure continuity of County services.
Would you like to vote before election day and not through the mail?
You may cast an absentee ballot in person at 935 2nd Street SW in Cedar Rapids.
You must vote your absentee ballot in the office. You cannot take the ballot home with you.
An accessible ballot marking device is available in the office for voters who may need assistance.
For primary and general elections, absentee ballots will be available no earlier than 20 days at the county auditors' offices.
For all other elections, ballots will be available as soon as they are ready.
It is not uncommon for large lines on the day before a major election and wait times may be up to an hour. It is best to plan ahead when considering voting at the office during the last week of a major election.
